In this post, I wanted to share my tips and tricks for how to create an awesome vision board that will help you manifest your goals and dreams! A vision board (or dream board) is a collage of photos, images, inspirational quotes and affirmations that is intended to provide you with motivation to achieve your upcoming goals and intentions. This past weekend my boyfriend and I created our 2020 vision boards and it was so fun! I felt like I’m back in middle school, working on an enjoyable and creative craft. It really got me excited and motivated me to attain my goals for the upcoming year!
Before you get started on your vision board, I think it’s extremely important to note that ultimately ONLY YOU can make your dreams possible. Creating a vision board is not going to magically manifest all of your wishes into reality. You can’t just wait for God or the universe to grant you your wishes and prayers. You have to go out and get them yourself. I believe if you take the necessary steps and act on your aspirations, you will achieve them through His divine intervention! The vision board is simply a tool to remind you of your intentions and to help you motivate yourself to attain your goals. Display your vision board where you will see it everyday. This daily reminder of your upcoming resolutions will serve to inspire you TO ACT and make your dreams a reality!
Step 1 – Set your goals and intentions
The first step of creating an awesome vision board is to actually set your goals and intentions. In my New Year’s Resolutions post, I shared that it is important to create goals that are measurable and concrete so that you know exactly what to do to accomplish them. This is known as the “SMART” method of setting goals. A goal is a smart goal when it is specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and time-limited (“SMART”). An example of a smart goal would be to drink 8 glasses of water everyday for the upcoming year or workout 3 times a week for at least 30 minutes. As you can see, smart goals are not vague and you know exactly what you need to do to be considered successful in achieving them.

Step 2 – Find motivational and inspirational quotes and photos online
This is definitely the fun part! I used Pinterest and Google to find motivational quotes and photos for our vision boards. The Clever Side had awesome printable quotes and Pinterest had beautiful images of the places I want to visit in 2020. You can also google “Vision Board quotes” and “Vision Board images” to find more content to use on your dream board. I pinned the affirmations, quotes and images I used for my vision board on Pinterest! Check them out here!
Step 3 – Gather your materials
The next step for creating an awesome vision board is actually gathering all of the materials. We used the following items:
Step 4 – Create your vision board
We sat aside our Sunday evening to work on our vision boards. It took a couple of hours as we talked throughout the process, printed more photos and quotes and layed out them out on the board in a few different arrangements. I enjoyed these few hours and loved how it brought out my creativity. I am so happy with the end results of our vision boards!
In my opinion, it is never too late in the year to create a vision board! It is such a fun and creative project and a great source of inspiration and motivation. Let me know in the comments below if you believe in the power of manifesting and if you have a vision board yourself!
