Happy Friday everyone! Hope you all had a great week. With the weekend coming up I wanted to share some of my must have healthy living home essentials in the hopes that maybe it inspires you to swap some of your household items for these reusable options! A lot of the products mentioned here are eco-friendly and help the environment. I think that the small efforts we can take on an everyday basis will add up and make a positive impact on our environment and the planet! One of my overall goals is to reduce my contribution to plastic waste and a lot of the items mentioned below help me accomplish just that!
Vitamix Blender – I’m not even exaggerating when I say that the Vitamix blender is LIFE CHANGING. I use it almost every single day! From smoothies, to soups, to homemade almond milk, it has become a kitchen gadget that has allowed me to replace many store bought products. It is so versatile and convenient!
Glass Airtight Bottles – I use these to store my green smoothies and homemade almond milk. It keeps them fresh and tasty for days!
Green House Plant – Many scientists note that indoor green plants help clean the air in our homes and act as air purifiers. I grew up in a house full of indoor plants. My mom loves taking care of them! I think it also gives us a sense of purpose as we need to water the plants frequently, chains its soil and make sure that its getting enough sun.
Reusable Metallic Straws – Say no to plastic straws. They are so unnecessary! Instead, you can carry one or two of these reusable metallic straws in your purse to have on hand if you’re buying a smoothie or iced coffee from a shop.
Coffee Mug – For your Starbucks runs or your homemade coffee! This is such an easy way to help the environment by reducing plastic cup waste.
Wool Dryer Balls – I never buy dryer sheets anymore. This pack of wool dryer balls keeps my clothes soft and wrinkle free, without any chemicals and they are reusable! They also shorten the drying time of your clothes.
Glass Pitcher with Lid – A huge way you can decrease your environmental impact is to stop buying bottled water. I use a glass pitcher with lid and every morning and night I boil water that I then pour into the pitcher. Once the water cools, I add lemon and drink that lemon water all day long!
Cute Reusable Grocery Bags – We really don’t have any excuse anymore to use the plastic bags from grocery stores. They are so unnecessary! Buy yourself a couple of these adorable and reusable grocery bags and keep them in your car so you always have them on hand if you need to pop into a grocery store unexpectedly.
Food Storage Bags – These replace your plastic freezer bags and are much more cost effective since you don’t need to rebuy them!
Let me know in the comments below your go to home essentials! Since moving into our own place, my sister and I are always looking for items that are sustainable but make our lives easier!
