Happy Sunday everyone! Hope everyone is having a good start to their summer! In this post, I’m sharing a few sets of cute summer outfit ideas that I have posted to Instagram lately. These outfits are so easy to throw on, and look super cute and stylish. They are perfect for hot summer days. I think these outfits would be perfect for socially distant activities like downtown strolls, patio dinner date nights, or church.
As I mentioned in my previous outfit posts, I like to mix and match many of the same pieces to come up with multiple unique outfits. I love buying classic pieces that I can rewear more than once. I think it’s important that we do that so that our wardrobes becomes more sustainable. For the summer, the main items I rewear constantly are my dark wash jean shorts from Loft, straw hat, and my Vince Camuto espadrille wedges (similar here and here). I can create so many different looks with these staple items. All I really have to do is swap out the top and different accessories. I highly encourage you to do the same!
Hot Summer Day Outfits
One of my new favorite colors to wear in the spring has been yellow (see my post here about my favorite yellow blouse and how to style it for spring and summer). I’m also incorporating the sunshine color into my summer wardrobe. This side tie yellow tank from Free People is perfect for hot summer days. It’s breezy, cute and the yellow color is so fun. I think this outfit would be perfect for any summer event – going to the beach, a socially distant party or going out for a casual dinner. My exact top is sold out everywhere but I found a few similar ones here, here, here and here. So many options!
I paired the yellow top with dark denim shorts, white espadrille wedges (similar here) and my straw hat. Sun protection is a must and I cannot recommend this straw hat enough. To finish off the look, I accessorized with my black sunnies. These ones are from Amazon and under $15. They look very chic and fashionable! Since they are so inexpensive, I typically just always leave them in my car. I love that they are all black but with bits of gold details.
For this second look, I paired the same shorts with my beige espadrille wedges and Guess eyelet trim open back halter top. I bought this tank over 5 years ago when my sister and I were going on our first trip to Hawaii! It brings back so many good memories. Eyelet trims and details are so in right now! This just goes to show you that everything goes back in style. I was so happy when I found this top in my closet. I kept in really good condition and it’s perfect for this summer season. I found similar style tops here, here and here.
Here is what the outfit looks like on me in person. For this photo, I had different wedges on but I prefer the beige wedges with this top. I love the eyelet detail complimenting the trim on the white top.
Summer Date Night Outfits
This next look is perfect for date night at a cute patio restaurant. I paired a lace peplum halter top (similar here) with fringe skinny jeans in a dark denim wash. My white Vince Camuto wedges matched the top perfectly. I also accessorized with my classic aviator Ray-bans and a cute brown beach bag. If it’s really hot, you could also pair the white halter top with white skinny jeans or a white denim skirt. I think that would also look super cute!
Casual Summer Style
This next look is one of my favorites! One of my favorite top styles are square neck shirts. They look extremely flattering without looking too revealing. This black square neck top is from Loft. I paired it with the dark denim shorts again and leopard print sandals for a fun and cute statement piece. This outfit is perfect for when you’re on the go but still want to look cute!
This next look is also perfect a hot summer day when you want to be casual and feel breezy. I paired my striped navy cami with the dark denim shorts and wedges (similar here). Such an easy outfit for summer and looks super cute!
My beach essentials for summer 2020 include red bikinis and cute cover-ups. I love this floral kimono as it is multifunctional. You can wear it as a kimono or as a swimsuit cover up. If you are savvy and creative, you can probably even wear it as a shirt. As mentioned above, my other summer essentials include my straw hat for sun protection and sunglasses. I can’t stress the importance of protecting our skin and eyes from the sun’s rays!

Let me know in the comments below which outstyle is your favorite. In addition, do you have any special plans for this summer? Unfortunately, all of my travel plans have been derailed as a result of the virus and I don’t feel comfortable venturing out too much. Most of my summer will be spent outdoors near the Chicago area.
