We are living in very uncertain and crazy times and it can be extremely scary. At times I feel like my head is going to explode with all of the catastrophic scenarios I conjure up in my mind, especially now with the coronavirus outbreak. My anxiety stems from fear of the unknown. However, I know that it is absolutely crucial to combat my negative thoughts. A stressed and anxious mind puts a strain on our immune systems which is not ideal when the world is battling a viral pandemic. Anxiety and stress lead to reduced lymphocytes, and a lower level of lymphocytes diminishes our body’s ability to ward off infections. To protect our immune system from stress, we need to remain strong and not fill our head with worries. We need to make sure that our immune health stays uncompromised. I have noticed that the most effective thing that helps relieve my anxiety is reading Bible Verses that highlight God’s strength and love for us.
My Favorite Bible Verses for Anxiety
The Bible verses below remind me that God is in control, everything will be okay and that worrying is a wasted emotion. It is pointless to worry about things that may NEVER happen. Instead, it is important to be prepared, take the necessary precautions to remain safe and be smart. No matter how hopeless the situation may be, we need to trust and believe that we will all get through this and it will pass. Staying positive is so important to our mental health and these verses help me keep an optimistic mindset.
Combatting Anxiety in Uncertain Times
Some other activities that have been helping me with my anxiousness during this uncertain time include:
- watching cute videos of dogs and puppies online;
- watching YouTube videos from my favorite YouTubers;
- FaceTiming with my family in Poland;
These things take my mind off the current situation and allow me to rest, relax and reflect. In times like this, I think it’s important not to panic, take good care of ourselves and try to have a positive mindset. I am choosing to surround myself with positivity and hope we will all be okay. We need to stay hopeful and enjoy life’s little moments that bring us happiness and joy. It’s really the little things that make us truly happy. I know it’s hard to take your mind off the current situation. I’m also struggling with finding the balance between being educated about the current situation and keeping a calm and peaceful state of mind, but reading these beautiful Bible verses definitely helps combat my anxiety.
To end, I encourage you to spend some quality time at home, with your family, friends and pets. Let’s all try to think about other things and take this time to learn a new skill, read a new book, organize your house and read these Bible verses to remind us that it will be okay.
