Happy Valentine’s Day everyone! What better way to celebrate the day of love then with a little self love! I am a cosmetics junkie and love all things beauty! In this post, I wanted to share my absolute beauty favorites that I have been using lately. I’ve tried and tested all of these items and can attest to their effectiveness and quality!
I love doing my makeup and my full in-depth everyday makeup routine can be found here. I use the products I share below on a regular basis and absolutely love all of them! One of my main requirements when it comes to all of my makeup products is that they last all day long. All of these products do and I don’t even use a primer or makeup setting spray! I highly recommend all of these makeup products!
Catrice 24 Hour Foundation – I recently discovered this foundation and absolutely love it. It lasts all day and has replaced my Kat Von D Lock-It Foundation which is amazing because Catrice is so much more affordable! I love that the brand is also cruelty free so it’s a win-win!
Catrice Liquid Camouflage Concealer – I use this on a daily basis for work and it covers my dark circles and imperfections impeccably!
Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation – I think this is THE best foundation on the market that offers full coverage and stays on all day. It does not move! All other foundations always rub off on my nose, but this one doesn’t. Sadly, Estee Lauder is NOT cruelty free so I only wear this foundation on special occasions.
TIP: I always buy the Estee Lauder foundation at Macy’s because they often include a free gift with a purchase of Estee Lauder products. They add on free Estee Lauder gifts like eyeshadow palettes, lipsticks, or blushes and bronzers. It’s a great deal!
Stay Naked Correcting Concealer – I used to wear the Naked Skin Weightless Coverage concealer for years and absolutely loved it, but unfortunately it was discontinued. This concealer is the next best thing and doesn’t crease.
CoverGirl LashBlast Volumizing Mascara in Very Black – I find this to be the best mascara that doesn’t fall out at all during the day. It lengthens & volumizes my lashes and I love how inexpensive it is.
Lancome Length Defining Mascara – For special occasions, I absolutely love this mascara. It produces long and defined lashes without any clumps. I highly recommend it.
Clarins Joli Blush in Boum – I adore the color of this blush. It is a beautiful pearly nude rose with gold highlights, which is perfect for my skintone.
Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso – This is the perfect blush to use on an everyday basis. It creates a natural, peachy rosy look. I love that Milani is cruelty free and their products are not tested on animals.
Kat Von D Lock It Setting Powder – This the best setting powder I’ve tried. I have pale skin and this does not darken my makeup like other supposedly translucent powders. Instead, it creates a smooth flawless look.
Benefit Cosmetics Goof Goof Brow Pencil Easy Shape & Fill – Eyebrows are very important! Recently, I’ve been trying to grow mine out but in the meantime I’ve been using this eyebrow pencil which does the job of filling in my eyebrow beautifully. It fills in sparse spaces and goes on so easily and smoothly!
Hoola Matte Benefit Bronzer – This bronzer is a staple item in my makeup collection. It doesn’t look dirty when you put it on and adds a nice glowy tan.
Milani Everyday Eyes Eyeshadow Palette – I love this eyeshadow palette for everyday use. I can create a natural eye look with it and they eyeshadow lasts all day.
Skincare is extremely important to me as I unfortunately suffer from acne prone skin. It is so frustrating to have to deal with breakouts as an adult but I find that sticking to my skincare regimen is crucial and using clean, good quality products helps combat breakouts and skin imperfections. My full skincare routine for acne prone skin can be found here. The products I share with you below I use currently on a daily basis and they have helped me battle with breakouts and imperfections tremendously.
Tatcha Dewy Skin Cream – The Tacha Dewy Skin Cream is an amazing facial moisturizer. It feels so luxurious and rich! I love applying it in the mornings and at night. My skin feels hydrated and plump after using it.
Drunk Elephant Shaba Complex™ Firming Eye Serum – I use this eye serum under my eyes to prevent fine lines and wrinkles around my eyes. It does an amazing job of hydrating my skin and I love how long the bottle lasts!
Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex II – As I shared in my full skincare routine, I use the Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Serum in the morning even though it is technically marketed to be used only at night. I love the hydration that it provides and haven’t noticed any negative side effects of using it in the morning.
Sunday Riley Luna Retinol Sleeping Night Oil – I’ve been using the Luna Serum every night for the last couple of years. It is a retinol oil that improves the appearance of wrinkles, redness, and pores. I love that it provides the anti-aging benefits of retinol in serum form as it doesn’t dry out my skin at all.
The Ordinary Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution – I recently discovered The Ordinary brand and I’m so glad that I did. All of their products are so affordable, vegan and cruelty free and contain only the chemicals that your skin actually needs without any unnecessary additives. I use this toning solution after cleansing. It makes my skin feel more hydrated, clean and it feels like it absorbs other products better.
The Ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution – This peeling mask is extremely effective. My skin feels baby soft after rinsing it off.
Tip for the unwary: If you decide to try this peeling solution, make sure you follow the directions to a tee before using it. Test it out on a small patch of skin first to ensure that it doesn’t cause any irritation as the formula is very strong and it could even cause burns on very sensitive skin. As the instructions state, you should also not leave on the peeling solution for longer than 10 minutes.
The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 – This product is amazing if you struggle from dry skin. It leaves your skin plump and hydrated.
Volition Apple Cider Vinegar Resurfacing Pads – These resurfacing pads are great for light microdermabrasion of the skin. They wipe away dead skin cells and leave your skin feeling baby soft. They tingle at first but I think that shows that they are effective and doing their job!
Baggage Claim Gold Eye Masks – I used to use the GlamGlow Brightmud Eye Treatment to rejuvenate and hydrate the skin around my eyes but it seems like this amazing product was discontinued. These Baggage Claim gold eye masks are a great replacement and are also so fun to use!
Volition Detoxifying Silt Gelee Mask – This is my favorite mask of all time. I see instant results after using it which rarely happens with any skin care product. My skin looks brighter and more hydrated. I can see that it purifies my skin, drawing out toxins and other impurities without drying out my skin. I highly recommend this mask!
Volition Turmeric Brightening Polish – This is an amazing face scrub that helps peel away dead skin cells and brightens the skin.
Other Beauty Favorites
I also use the below miscellaneous beauty favorites on a daily basis! They honestly make life easier and I highly recommend you try them out.
Coconut Oil – I use coconut oil to take off my makeup. It does the job wonderfully and the makeup goes off so easy! It’s super cost effective and I love that it is all natural.
Note for the unwary: Unfortunately, coconut oil can clog your pores so it may not work for everyone as an effective makeup remover.
Mac Mineralize Skinfinish Natural Powder – This is an oldie but a goodie that I have in my purse at all times. I use it throughout the day to touch up my makeup and blot my oily skin.
Powder Sunscreen – By now we all know the importance of sunscreen so it’s no surprise that I need to mention sun protection in a beauty favorites post. I use the Naturopathica sunscreen in the morning, but throughout the day (especially in the summer), I use this powder sunscreen over my makeup. It blots my skin and offers skin protection from the sun! A total win-win!
Real Techniques Beauty Blender – My favorite way to apply foundation is with a beauty blender sponge as I find that it doesn’t leave any streaks and results in the most natural effect. The Real Techniques blender is my favorite as it is very affordable and a dupe for the Original Beauty Blender Sponge.
Tip: Make sure that you disinfect your blending sponge on a regular basis. The sponge houses bacteria from your foundation and skin and it is extremely important to clean it!
Makeup Sponge Stand – I use a makeup sponge stand to store my beauty blender. It provides ventilation to extend the life of your sponges and keeps them conveniently stored for everyday use.
Makeup Sponge Travel Case – These are so handy! I used to put my makeup sponge in a ziplock bag when traveling but the travel cases are much more sanitary! They keep your makeup sponge properly stored and away from your other makeup products.
Makeup Headband – I love these makeup headbands as they keep your hair away from your face while applying makeup and they are also so cute!
I hope you enjoyed this post and it inspired you to try out some new beauty products! Let me know in the comments below if you have any questions on any of these items as well as your favorite beauty products!
